ReplyDeleteI have always gravitated towards teaching. Back in middle school and high school I helped tutor my friends. In undergrad I had a part time job tutoring, which I loved. In grad school the only part of it that I enjoyed was being a teaching assistant. When I look back at my life it really seems like the only option for a career that gives me fulfillment and isn't just a paycheck. I really get enjoyment out of a student telling me they get it.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, I wanted a job where I could help people. The jobs I've had teaching others made me feel the happiest. Plus, I have always enjoyed wanted a career where I perform a variety of jobs. To me, teaching is a job with lots of variety that lets me be creative, talk about something I love, interact with people. I like a job that's always changing and I can do different things.
